What are fermented foods?

Humans have been eating fermented foods since the dawn of time.

Before refrigeration fermentation was one of the only options for storing food to keep for the long term.

Little did our ancestors know just how healthy eating fermented food really is.

In recent years studies have shown a remarkable property of the fermentation process.

It actually starts to break down plants, vitamins, and herbs and releases specific phytochemicals that actually magnify the benefits of the herb and plants being used.

Fermented foods like kimchi, natto miso, kefir, kombucha, and apple cider vinegar are, powerhouses of health filled with healing enzymes that are literally amplified by the fermentation process itself.

Eating raw food is definitely good for you and will help your body process nutrients more efficiently, but amazingly the fermentation process actually aids your body in making essential nutrients even more available to your body than raw or cooked foods on their own.
